Battery Adapter for 18 volt DeWalt power tools
July 30th, 2010 | by admin |
This battery adapter enables you to use inexpensive Ryobi batteries for all your 18 volt DeWalt power tools. This was available on ebay, however ebay pulled the listing at the request of DeWalt and their parent company, The Black & Decker Corporation. They claimed the listing violates their intellectual property rights. I disagree with this decision and will appeal through the proper channels, so please check back here for a link to the re-listing when available. After all if you bought a Ford automobile and converted it to run on natural gas, and then offered that automobile for sale, would that be a violation of intellectual property?

That drill is already unpleasant to work with, this makes it worse.

But the DeWalt battery is the best part of the DeWalt. It would be like buying a Ford truck and then taking out the rear-end. I have heard a lot of people deepthroating about Li-Ion and I will admit it is lightweight & compact but in terms of brute power, low operating temperatures and longevity, DeWaly XRP batteries are still king.

@man9170 means you must not use your tools. any battery that sits around doing nothing is going to go bad or discharge.

Go and buy Black & Decker FireStorm series batteries, they fit dewalt tools directly, cost twice less, but also work not so good as original.
