A computer program tells a cutting machine to cut the wood according to a design that’s fed into the computer or something

This is not so new. Just as we have CNC for machining, the same technology is used in the cabinet and woodworking industry.

What is new is that there are now tabletop models that can be purchased for under $10.000.00 USD
So you can do this at home.
Also new are tabletop laser cutting computer controlled machines.
Although there is a limit on the thickness of wood that this will ablate, since it does not cut it.
