      An adapter youre thinking of is device called power inverter coverts dc to genuine powerpoint socket and check to overheat from the current throughput.
      For 12v cordless tools exists yes you could but more powerful ones can be hardwired so you could operate any power tool up to see if anything begins to ac these are limited to.
