      If there is a Home Depot near you, they offer classes for all types of do it yourself projects.

      Other than that, you could contact your local chamber of commerce and ask them for information on clubs and newsletters in your area.

      Also local shops/stores and small newspapers may have information or flyers on clubs.

      go to meetup.com. you can then create a profile & meet tons of people in your area looking to do the same things you want. it does work. good luck.
