How times have changed in the past ten years with regards to discount power tools. In decades past, discount power tools tended to be somewhat of a joke and quickly broke down on the user. With the cost of a high end name brand tools shooting through the roof discount tools are a smart way to go. For larger tools such as compressors or compound miter saws that spend a lot of time out in the open in the back of a truck, going the discount tool route means that you don’t have to leave thousands of dollars worth of tools sitting out in the open every time you stop to get a bite to eat or have to run in a store.
Expensive name brand tools are going to catch a crack-heads eye like a hungry dog to a hamburger and they are far easier to unload as well, so using discount tools is cheap and sensible theft insurance.
